Lavender Blooms

This three-tier wedding cake for a wedding in Vail, Colorado, was built with three different flavors. The base was a chocolate tier, a lemon tier followed with lemon filling and the top tier was strawberry. The 50 cake pops that accompanied the cake were devil's food chocolate encased with white and lavender candy.

Cupcake Wedding

For this creative couple I baked an 8" round white cake with a raspberry ribbon and decorated it in an outdoor scene. As centerpieces for the reception area tables I crafted about 350 cupcakes in 5 flavors: cherry coca cola, peach tea with lemon cream cheese frosting, triple chocolate, vanilla with snow white frosting and huckleberry and black raspberry with almond frosting.

Floral Wedding

Today's project was a floral wedding cake with 10" and 6" tiers. The flavor was carrot, a favorite of the bride and groom. I also delivered about two dozen cake pops in vanilla and chocolate.

Shower Critters

I made these cute little critters for a baby shower this past weekend. The cupcakes were half lemon and half vanilla and all 40 were topped with tinted buttercream as critters or swirl designs.

Peanut Butter Chocolate

I tried a new recipe for these cupcakes. The cakes are chocolate with a hint of cinnamon that I dipped in a peanut butter chocolate ganache. Once this cooled I added a swirl of peanut butter buttercream and half of a Reeses cup.

Grape Crush Cupcakes

March 26th is National Epilepsy Awareness Day so my office had a bake sale to raise money for the National Epilepsy Foundation. The color was purple so I baked two dozen grape crush cupcakes with buttercream frosting and lavender sugar pearls.

Pale Pink Daisies

I love doing little girl birthday cakes! This 9" strawberry cake was so fun to make with pale pink gerbera daisies, little violets and a couple of conspicuous ladybugs.

Cake Pops

These are my first attempt at cake pops. I have seen them all over the web forever and am just now trying them! A bride requested samples of white/cream cheese pops and chocolate pops for a wedding in July. I bet they will be a hit with the kiddos and adults alike!

Chocolate Swirl Cupcakes

For these cupcakes I wanted to pair looks with great chocolate taste. So I started with devil's food cupcakes and then added vanilla and chocolate swirled buttercream frosting. This was topped with chocolate jimmies, two-tone fondant flowers and milk chocolate squares. Yum!

Lemon & Champagne

This week I made two flavors of cupcakes for a tasting with a bride and groom. The bride had enjoyed a champagne cake at a friend's wedding and wanted to try my version so I paired pink champagne cake with a french vanilla filling (below). The couple also wanted to try something fruity so I made a lemon with lemon filling cake(above). I had already made the pair a chocolate with buttercream sample that was a hit but they wanted to offer their guests 3 different flavor combinations.

Birthday Cake

Nothing like a snowy February to make you long for spring! For this 90th birthday party I was asked to 'think spring'. So I baked a white sheet cake with raspberry filling and 3 dozen chocolate cupcakes with yellow buttercream frosting sprinkled with fondant flowers.
