Retro Flare Wedding

For this wedding project I was able to exercise my artistic license. My hairstylist requested 60 cupcakes and a topper cake for her retro inspired wedding reception. Her colors were cream, black and aqua. I was able to create a custom cake topper with feathers, pearls and fondant flowers to echo the birdcage veil that Jen would be wearing. I created about 200 five-petal flowers for the cupcakes and anemone and ranunculus flowers for the fondant covered 6" cake. I arranged black pearls on the cupcakes and cake in swirl designs to soften the look.

Sunflowers and Roses

A coworker hired me to make 2 dozen cupcakes for her parents' anniversary. Her dad had Kansas roots and her mom was from England. She suggested 1 dozen lemon cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sunflowers and 1 dozen white cupcakes with raspberry filling and rose decorations. She told me afterwards that they had arranged the cupcakes into the year number of their anniversary. How sweet!

Pinkness

For this cake I was given directions to make it PINK! I had some apple blossoms on hand and designed this pink and white confection for a 12-year-old's birthday.

Chocolate!

Daffodil Birthday

This little cake was completed as a surprise for a client's friend who was coming over near her birthday. It was fun to imagine how surprised someone would be to go to an event and get a fun little floral birthday cake!

Strawberry Patch Birthday

When I got hired to make 60 cupcakes and a 6" round cake for a little girl's first birthday I couldn't think of anything funner than little strawberries and flowers. I decided to make the mini fondant strawberries in two shades of pink to emphasize the feminine look. Frosting the vanilla and chocolate cupcakes in white and light pink made for the perfect backdrop for the fondant flowers with pearl centers and independent fondant leaves completed the look. A berry happy birthday!
