Spring Daisy Cookies

These lovely daisies were in honor of my friend's 28th birthday. This clump of a dozen blooms was my first attempt at a cookie bouquet on lollipop sticks. I had seen pictures but never tried creating one so I seized the opportunity to make this springy basket full of cheerfulness. Each large cookie was individually wrapped for freshness and could be given individually or in a group.

Spring Flowers

Today I made 2-dozen cupcakes for a bridal shower, half devil's food and half white. Each little cake was topped with an ivory buttercream swirl and a two-tone pink gumpaste blossom. Add some white nonpareils sprinkles and you have super cute cupcakes that are just perfect for a beautiful spring day!

A Big White Bow

For the last month I have been taking the Wilton Gumpaste and Fondant cake decorating class. We have practised flowers, borders, bows and cake assembly. This pink creation was my final project and I love how it turned out. Fondant affords many different design options that buttercream frosting doesn't. This will just be the start of my experience with fondant cakes!

Floral Cupcakes

Thank you cupcakes that I gave to my co-workers last week. Each one was vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and gumpaste flowers.

Flowers

These flowers a gerbera daisy, mum and rose were my first attempt at gumpaste flowers.

Happy Birthday to Me!

This 6" square white and pink swirl cake is elegantly adorned with three snow encrusted trees. I love snow and we certainly haven't had enough this year so I decided to make myself at winter wonderland themed cake. It was scrumptious and all of my party guests loved it!
